I must admit that month of January for most people is not the best time to be vacationing in Eastern Europe. Lack of sun, post-holiday depression, seven month heating season and low temperatures colors life there in black/ white and add heaviness to the surroundings. However it is perfect time to slow down, spend some time with the family and experience motherland without a makeup.
I did spend most of the time in my hometown Utena, did most of the traveling by foot and public transportation, and met very few (but very awesome) people. Random fragments from 2013 trip are for your judgment.
Winter melancholy at it’s finest.
