FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY MADISON WI by PAULIUS MUSTEIKIS
Dan Fox is the rock star owner of the Heritage Tavern restaurant in Madison Downtown. I know Dan Fox for a quite a few years now. When I met Dan for the first time he was an executive chef in The Madison Club.
So the other day Dan recently asked me to help him out with food photography Madison WI. Isthmus online magazine neededs them as the team from The Daily Page are working on Heritage Tavern’s detailed story and food review.
And yes, this we used a real pig skull as a platform when photographing headcheese and escargot. (:
TECH STUFF: Only available natural window light was used when taking pictures. My son helped me by holding 32″ 5-in-1 collapsible circular reflector for a fill light in a few images. Everything was shot with hand held camera. Most (if not all) of the images were shot with 50mm f/1.4 lens for faster shutter speed and shallow depth of field. From my personal experience it seems that this lens works really well for food photography Madison WI. Couple dishes were shot with my trusted Nikon system. Newer food images were captured with Fuji X-Pro1.
All images were shot in Heritage Tavern restaurant on 31 E Mifflin St an hour before restaurant opens for dinner.
Bon appétit!
